How it works

From idea to arrangement in four steps.

Melodex turns natural language into fully editable multitrack projects. Here's the high-level flow.

The core flow

01

Type your prompt

Describe the song in plain English — tempo, mood, genre, instruments. Like briefing a co-producer.

02

AI builds the project

The language model returns a structured project with tracks, sections, and MIDI. Zod validation ensures every detail is correct.

03

Hear it instantly

Tone.js loads your project. Multitrack playback in under 5 seconds — drums, bass, piano, pads all synced and ready.

04

Iterate with words

Ask for changes in natural language. "Make the chorus punchier" or "add a bridge after the second verse." Or open the piano roll and edit manually.

What you can do

Section-aware editing

Change only what you need. Tell Melodex to modify the verse without touching the chorus — the rest of your arrangement stays intact.

Fully editable output

Every note is editable. Open the piano roll, drag regions, draw new notes, delete what doesn't work. AI is a starting point, not a cage.

Stem export

Export individual tracks as WAV files — drums, bass, chords, melody. Use them in another DAW, a video project, or a game engine.

Local fallback

No API key? No internet? A deterministic interpreter keeps you working. Your music never depends on a connection.
